The amounts are the vertical columns that ensure the stability of the whole. They support the weight of the structure and that of the people or materials placed on it. They must therefore be solid and reliable.

The beams: lateral stability ensured
Healts are horizontal bars fixed between uprights. Their role is to reinforce the lateral stability of the scaffolding. By blocking transverse movements, they prevent the structure from wobbling.

The platteris the element on which professionals stand to work. It must be non-slip, resistant and capable of withstanding significant loads. Designed in wood, steel or aluminum, it can also be perforated to facilitate water drainage.
Some models incorporate a trapdoor, offering secure access from one level to another without unbalancing the user. This type of tray facilitates safe vertical movements.

Guardrails: protect users
A guardrail is a safety device installed at the edges of the scaffolding. It prevents falls from heights. In general, it consists of a high rail, an intermediate rail, and a skirting board.
* The high rail: positioned about 1 meter in height, it prevents tilting.
* The intermediate rail: avoids slips.
* Baseboard: blocks tools or materials on the floor.

Other elements not to be forgotten
Scaffolding also includes other essential components. Neglecting them would be a mistake.
1. The diagonals
Set at an angle, they reinforce the structure in the longitudinal direction. They allow the scaffolding to better resist movements and loads.
2. The access scales
To move from one level to another, scale is essential. It must be stable, non-slip, and securely fixed.
3. The anchors and fixings
They connect the scaffolding to the building or ground. Their role is to ensure the immobility of the structure, even in case of strong winds or repeated shocks.
